Gate Operator/Setup (1) : set up and operate the gate for practice laps and races. Required to understand the safety features of the gate and be aware of riders on the gate and track at all times.
Track Prep/Staging Setup (2) : sweep, rake, water, pick rocks on track as needed before races. Chalk race lines and staging area.
Track Safety/Corner Official (3) : stands on track during practice laps and races to ensure the safety of the riders on the track and assist them as needed. Monitors for infractions.
First Aid (1) : assess riders after a fall and provide necessary care. Must hold a valid first aid certificate. Required to be on site before practice laps and races can start. First aid kit provided by club.
Announcer (1) : keeps the energy high and the crowd engaged with live race commentary, rider call-outs, and exciting play-by-play action. Delivers shout-outs to sponsors, shares race-day updates, and helps create an unforgettable atmosphere for racers and spectators alike.
Race Commissaire (1) : acts as the official on track, ensuring all races are fair, safe, and by the book. Oversees rule enforcement, race results, and rider conduct from start to finish. Must hold a valid BMX Commissaire license.
Finish Line Lead (1) : enters finish line results into Sqorz BMX software. Communicates with track officials to enter DNS, DNF and REL violations. Ensures results are accurate.
Finish Line (2) : records the riders as they cross the finish line. Communicates results to Finish Line Lead.
Starter (1) : calls out riders’ names and lanes to organize them into their designated gate at the top of the start hill. Ensures riders have proper safety gear on and bike is race ready.
Staging (1) : organizes riders into their assigned motos and lanes in the staging area by calling out names and lanes. Communicates to announcer if a rider is missing.
Track Maintenance : helps keep the track race-ready and in top condition. Responsibilities include prepping and repairing the track surface, shaping jumps and berms, and ensuring rider safety. Most work happens outside of race and practice days, but support may be needed during events for touch-ups and quick fixes. Maintenance nights will be scheduled and communicated to members throughout the season.
