TYPES OF RACES

All riders with a valid SCA “Provincial” or “UCI” license are eligible to race throughout Saskatchewan in all District/SK Cup/Provincial races.  UCI license holders are eligible to race out-of-province at district, provincial and national level race events. Striders are eligible to ride with a “Cycling For All” license at all sanctioned races in the province, but will not accumulate points or RDW’s.

Club: racing with other Warman BMX members at the club level.  There are no RDW’s awarded at club races.

District: competing against other local racers from neighboring clubs.  District points are tallied throughout the season and RDW’s are earned at each race.

Points for each district race are tallied as follows:

·       1st place: 100 points

·       2nd place: 80 points

·       3rd place: 70 points

·       4th place: 60 points

·       5th place: 50 points

·       6th place: 40 points

·       7th place: 30 points

·       8th place: 20 points

·       9th or lower: 10 points

SK Cup Provincial Series: competing against racers from the province (and some from neighboring provinces).  Each club in the province will host a series of races with the Grands (finals) being held to award riders with their “P” plates based on their ranking throughout the series of races.  Riders must attend 50% of the series races and Grands to be awarded a “P” plate.  Winners will be awarded 2 RDW’s at the SK Cup races.

Points for each race in the series are tallied as follows:

Novice Male Riders:

·       1st place: 100 points

·       2nd place: 80 points

·       3rd place: 70 points

·       4th place: 60 points

·       5th place: 50 points

·       6th place: 40 points

·       7th place: 30 points

·       8th place: 20 points

·       9th or lower: 10 points

Novice Female and Intermediate Male Riders:

·       1st place: 200 points

·       2nd place: 180 points

·       3rd place: 170 points

·       4th place: 160 points

·       5th place: 150 points

·       6th place: 140 points

·       7th place: 130 points

·       8th place: 120 points

·       9th or lower: 110 points

Expert Riders:

·       1st place: 300 points

·       2nd place: 280 points

·       3rd place: 270 points

·       4th place: 260 points

·       5th place: 250 points

·       6th place: 240 points

·       7th place: 230 points

·       8th place: 220 points

·       9th or lower: 210 points

Cruiser:

·       1st place: 100 points

·       2nd place: 80 points

·       3rd place: 70 points

·       4th place: 60 points

·       5th place: 50 points

·       6th place: 40 points

·       7th place: 30 points

·       8th place: 20 points

*For an unblended group (all one age/ability), points will be awarded by the rider’s placement within the age/ability group

*For a blended group (mixed ages and/or abilities), points will be awarded after the group is broken down to the age/ability of the rider as registered for the day

Provincial Championship: competing against racers from the province, this one-day race awards the top 8 finishers in each age/gender category with an “SK” plate.   This provincial race focuses on the age (as of December 31st) and gender of the rider ONLY, not ability class.  Results are determined by your finishing position for the day.  Winners will be awarded 2 RDW’s at the Provincial Championship race.

Riders will race in age groups as follows:

a. Boys – ages: 5 and 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16; (11 categories)

b. Girls – ages: 5-7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16; (10 categories)

c. Men – ages: 17-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35 and over; (4 categories)

d. Women – ages: 17-24, 25 and over; (2 categories).
